More details about our growing child

Let me get caught up over the last few weeks. The lab results came back saying that the progesterone was decreasing but the HCGs were increasing. So, I'm taking progesterone and am praying everything is developing normally.

I have heard several people say that God has given them a word or scripture, but I have really never paid much attention. I'm just not a good listener when it comes to that. So, this summer I have really been trying to take time to listen and learn about what God is showing me. Well, two mornings he gave me two words to stand on. First, I was extremely worried about the next set of lab results. I just wanted to hear good news. So, he gave me the words, "The Lord is Your Shepherd." And YES he is!!!! All day I just kept remembering those words and thinking about how he is guiding me. Then the next morning (the day the results would come) I woke up with the words, "Hallelujah" in my head! So, of course I was excited to believe that our results would be great news!

The doctor called and reported that the numbers last week were 170 and this week were 448. So, it was great that they were going up but she would have expected them to be around 800 and around 1500 to hear a heartbeat. So, I'm clinging to the words God gave me and trying not to worry about the #s. She did say everyone has different numbers so I should not be concerned. So, next week we will do this all over again. When talking to my amazing husband, I said, " I just want them to tell me that everything is going to be alright" but he is right when he brought to my attention that every week will be a waiting game and we just have to give it to God. I am so blessed to have a husband who brings our concerns, problems, or difficult situations to God first!! It's so much easier that way.

Days later.......
I started spotting and the doctor said not to worry unless it turns red. Well, it was good for a while but eventually turned red. So, my doctor kind of assumed that I was having a miscarriage without any test to prove so. Well, I wasn't happy with that so I went to the er. The night of our school party....very sad to miss this !!!! But I just need to know. So, through many test they did come to the same conclusion. So, now I'm an emotional wreck and typing about it just feels good. So, since this is a reocurring thing I am very angry at God's plan. I just don't understand. I've always had faith in God and could see the big picture....making myself very positive about any situation.......But I feel weak this time and just very confused! I know you really would rather read about the latest craft idea but this really needs to get out of my system. Thank you for listening. Next blog should be much more uplifting!!!

Beautiful Blessing

Before Rhees and I got married we had a discussion about having children. I had a 15yr old and 6 miscarriages so as you can guess I was hesitate. He doesn't have any children and LOVES them. So, after talking I knew that I just didn't want anymore because I was afraid. I knew that if God wanted us to have kids then His plan would be perfect. Rhees and I would really love to have our own kids but adoption was an option if that's what God wanted for us. We talked after we got married about when we wanted to start trying. We agreed that we needed a few months to ourselves but don't want to wait too long because of age. Since birthcontrol tends to take about three months to get out of your system we stopped it in May. This gave us time for it to get out of my system and maybe have the due date be in the summer. You know that is ideal for teachers so we don't have to take many or any days off. Well, through all of this planning I really knew God kept telling me: as humans we have to make some plans and be responsible....but God's plan will never let you down. For the first time I just set aside the control of when it "had" to happen. God will take care of the details. I'm not saying I was perfect at it but it was so freeing to know that I could just enjoy life and let him do the work. Not to get gross but just enjoy sex instead of focusing on making a baby. Well, to my surprise and delight on Saturday 7-9-11 I found out I was pregnant!!!!! I could not believe it!! I kept taking test because I was just in shock. I haven't even been off birthcontrol for 3 months.

The next step was to tell the man I love that we are going to share the experience of having a baby!!! So, after thinking I came up with a plan. We went to the park where he proposed to me and of course there was someone in "our" spot. Just like last time. So, we started to feed the ducks and guess what came up.......a BABY duck!!!! Yes, it was so cute and fit our moment perfectly! Well, we found a table and I read a little poem that I wrote for him:

God has changed our life in so many ways

Blessings are all around us today

I could hardly wait to tell you

We have a precious baby on the way

Then I had a little box with a bow on it for him. When he opened it there was a note that said, " Congrats Daddy!!! We're Pregnant!!! Then there were 3 positive pregnancy test in the box.

After that we cried, laughed, and were smiling from ear to ear!!!! And then my most favorite thing about our relationship. We prayed together for this baby and for our family. We dedicate this baby to the Lord and are blessed that God would want us to raise one of his children!!!

07-10-11

Because of past problems that I have had we are waiting to tell everyone. So, when we went to church I'm sure we were all smiles! But the message couldn't be anymore perfect for us. It was about how God wants us to have blessings.

~Side note: Necia has been begging for us to have a baby. She has really been wanting one around. So, she always teases me by rubbing my belly and saying how's the baby? Well, I always giggle and say stop! Well, today during church she started doing that and I wanted to tell her so bad! So, when we got home I couldn't resist. I told her. She is super excited and said she kind of suspected it.

07-11-11

Well, it's Monday and doctors offices are open so let the calling begin! I talked to several and haven't made a final decision. I live in a smaller community and I just am not sure I'm comfortable about delivering in a hospital without a NICU. Maybe I shouldn't think like that but I just want to be prepared. So, still thinking on the doctor. But my regular OBGYN was kind enough to order some lab work today and then again Wed. to compare. This will make me feel so much better!!!!! She can see if I need progesterone. This is one thing they can do to help you not miscarry. I need all the help I can get!

~Later we filled in our parents on the exciting news!!!! There were tears of course!

This week has been pretty relaxing. I watched another baby! That has just been a blast. I just love babies! They are so full of happiness and giggles.....well, most of the time :). I also have been working on my office. This is a major undertaking!!!! Little steps have been made but I just want to see the finished result. It will be all worth it in the end! Here is a pic of the diaster office room. See, the problem is there is no storage to store my valuable posessions. We will get there I just need to deal with a few of my issues (scrapbooking) and it will be organized and awesome!!!!

This week I painted new furniture, have started painting an accent wall and thought about organizing. Slowly but surely we will get there!!!!!

More importantly this week I attended a bible study at church. It is somehting that I have been wanting to do. So, I jumped at the opportunity to do a Beth Moore study with childcare...a must this week! It is called Breaking Free. It will reveal some things you really want to hide . But man I need that. So, it has been great!

This week I have been watching a precious 6 month old. He has definitely won my heart! But let me tell you I totally forgot the time they require. Yeah those projects I've been working on, those are on hold. It got easier each day but he kept me busy!I did brave WalMart with him and was successful. It was definitely a harder trip than usual but I got everything on the list and was even able to still use my calculator. I know ...nerd...but when your on a budget you have to know how much your spending. Anyway....after we got home he wet on me. I think he was letting me know that the trip was too long! People that say being a mom isn't a full time job are insane, and not a mom themselves. It was nice having a handsome little man around our house! I think my husband fell in love with having him here. I think he is on the mission to have one of his own. He is just too cute with babies.

This is him before we went swimming. He loved the water! I think he kicked his legs the whole time we were in the water!

Saturday he went home and I went to a Shower for one of my friends. It was super fun to be with the girls. We played several games and ate food. What more could you ask for?

Well, here is the cake! It was red velvet and delicious!

And yes, we played the toilet paper bride. Too fun!!! I must say I had some great designers!

Menu

Well, here is my menu for this week! I'm so excited that I've made it another week with my organizing. I'm sure it will just get easier and easier. This week was a little tough because we were watching a 6 month old and I'm not really used to the "attention" they require. Wow! Those little ones will keep you busy. So, I just did my meal plan at a couple of nap times. Thankfully he is a great sleeper! I have to tell you though.....he is going to be a heart breaker! I enjoyed every minute of watching him! Anyways....back to the menu. Here it is and I hope you get some ideas to help your menu out!

Friday: Beef Stroganoff

Saturday: Taco/Mexi Rice

Sunday: Spaghetti/Salad

Monday: Grilled Chicken / Pasta Salad

Tuesday: Shrimp Etoufee

This is the easiest meal and our family's favorite! You will see it on here almost weekly.

Wednesday: Orange Chicken/Rice/Edamame

Thursay: Chicken Pesto Sauce/Penne Pasta

Home Owners

Join us for :

Over at PoutyPinkPrincess! It's so much fun to share your weekend fun!

So, this Saturday we became true home owners. We have just recently bought a home but as you know there is more to it. There is always something that you need to "complete" your home. Well, I know we are not done, but we bought two of the necessities for owning a home.
The first thing we bought was our first little grill. Thanks to a gift card we enjoyed buying it. We are having our first family cookout. So, this was a must!
Putting it together was a little crazy! I did it almost all by myself. Then, we tested it out by grilling some chicken. Yummy! It was delicious....I think we are ready for our cookout!
The next thing that is a must if you own a house is a lawn mower. We have been borrowing mowers and that is just not the good stuff. So, we finally have our own. And I must say that our lawn looks amazing!!!! Sometimes it's not what you want to spend money on but it's a need!

I must say that my hubby works so hard around the house. He is chillin with his baby girl after a long day!

To conclude our day we drove up to pick up my daughters first truck. We bought it months ago and my dad has been working on it. It was finally ready and she just could not wait to get it. She is so excited to work on this beauty! She wants to do so much for it. She loves fashion so it must be a HOT truck~ And it will be soon!

Menu

I have really been trying to get organized this summer. And one of the ways I'm going to try and get organized is planning a weekly Menu and blog about it. That way I feel like someone is watching and I will actually do it every week. Well, I know it's a great idea.....but we will see how the follow through goes. Now my days will be a little weird because I don't always get groceries on the same day each week. We have a cash system and get money every 8 days. So, ignore that and just look at the yummy food! So, here it goes! This is my 1st meal plan for this week.

Friday: Meatloaf/green beans/Mashed Potatoes

I know some people think ewwww but I'm just a meat eater so I love it!~

Saturday: Grilled chicken/Classic Pasta Salad (out of a box)

Sunday: Father's Day cookout

So, excited to finally have everyone at our house!

Monday: Game night with friends......we are bringing greenbeans wrapped in bacon

Everything is better with bacon!

Tuesday: Oma Rice ( stir fry with chicken, rice, eggs, and veggies)

cooking everything seperate makes the flavors really stand out

Wednesday: Ravioli/Salad

Thursday: We should have plenty of leftovers.

This will be my lazy day!

O and if you love love love veggies.....this might not be the place for you. But I am trying really hard to try new things. For example: I can't stand many green things and my precious hubs got me to LOVE sugar snap peas and edamame! So, there is hope that his plan turns more green over the months to come. At least I hope! No promises :)

This week was full of fun! My family went on vacation to Branson. This was the first time Rhees has experienced my family's vacation. Thankfully he is just as silly as they are so he fits right in! The first day there we spent the whole day at Silver Dollar City. That was a lot of walking!!!!! The roller coasters were my favorite! It's so nice to have one week during the year that the whole family is all together!

We really enjoyed the go carts! I think speed and racing is in our blood! My mom was a little worried about racing but she loved it!

Daniel, Christy, Necia, and Rhees are waiting to race! Good Luck~!!!

Necia wouldn't be pleased unless there was shopping on our vacation. And that little lucky girl found an outlet!!!! Score!!!!!!!! She found her first key chain here and some adorable flip flops!

It was hot but we fed the trout. This was a fish hatchery. They use these to stock the rivers! YUMMY!!!!! I love fish!!

One of our stops was a winery. We sampled some wine and Necia loved the grape juice! So, of course we had to buy some!

When we got back home we went to a beautiful wedding at Bridal Creek! It was the first wedding since ours. It was a little emotional! When the bride walked in I remembered that feeling you get in your stomach. What a blessing to be able to celebrate this wonderful event with our friends!

This Saturday was full of excitement! We started our journey towards Bartlesville to attend Sunfest. We go every year to enjoy seeing friends, food, crafts, music, and old cars. It was sooooo hot today so of course our first stop was our very favorite gas station. Sweet tea was a need for today!
We made plans to meet my mom at this stage to enjoy the Steel Drums play! I love the sound that they make. Makes you feel like your on a beach somewhere....which I would love! The students playing are from the local school band! Wow! Aren't they lucky to have this experience!

MIMI & NECIA

Every year we go during the car show. It is always fun to look at these amazing cars and DREAM! Little did my daughter know that she had a huge car surprise in her very near future!

Our next adventure was going to my parents house to surprise my daughter with her first car! She has been searching for an old Chevy truck to fix up. We wanted it to be a surprise so we have had a very difficult time keeping it from her the last few weeks. But well worth it! She was so excited when we turned the corner! She said, " OH MY I THINK I'M GOING TO CRY! "

Next part of her life is learning to drive and fixing up this truck! I'm thinking I won't hear "I'm board" for a long time!

If that wasn't exciting enough for you.....we got to go for our first swim in our own pool. This is a huge deal for us. We just bought our first house and are so happy that we can relax in our own backyard after a sun filled day!

I love my life and can't wait for the blessings to come!
Definitely a fun filled Summer Saturday!

Happy Birthday

Well, unlike everyone else I have been looking forward to my 30th Birthday forever! It came at just the perfect time.....the Friday before Spring Break. My daughter and husband made sure that I had awesome gifts and breakfast in bed. Then my friends at school bought me lunch and my kids were so loving on this special day. I can't count the pictures they drew for me. I also have the best home room mom. She secretly got together and put balloons in my room and had the kids make a great shirt for me. They each drew a picture and signed their names. Then she transferred them onto a T-Shirt. How Thoughtful!!! Then that night my husband surprised me with dinner at the Melting Pot! I had never been there and soooooo loved it! We ended the evening by sitting by the fire at the Riverwalk. I love that everyone made this day so special. Then that next day my parents took care of me by taking me to my favorite place to eat unhealthy food! It's a place where I grew up and they have the best Hot Hamburgers.

Well, I'm not sure if you know but our family just moved and so many people have been wanting to come see the house. So, what other way to do that than to throw a party !!!! We invited some friends and had homemade ice cream and cupcakes!!! YUM!

This ice cream was so great! We made a gallon and a half. Then we had toppings to choose from. You know I just wanted to be like Cherry Berry! And yes it was a success!

My new favorite frosting! They actually come out looking decent! Watch out Cake Boss!

I am so excited to be seeing all of the blessings in my life. Now that I'm 30 I am an adult!!! These are going to be some of the best years of my life!!! It just keeps getting better and better!

One of my happiest moments...A SALE!

Well, it's been awhile since I have blogged. Well, Life has been great just super busy. But this deal has to be shared! I got several Hobby Lobby gift cards for my birthday and Valentine's so Necia and I went looking today. I had in mind a few things that I needed. If you don't know we just moved so all I can think about is decor!!! So, after walking down every and I'm not kidding every aisle. I noticed that one part of the store was having a HUGE clearance. I was so excited that I found 2of the projects that I had been looking for and an extra bonus!

So, first I have been looking for a huge frame to hang above my couch and then place different frames..candle holders..plaques..and so much more inside it. Well, I found in the clearance aisle a huge mirror that was broken. Well, to my luck, I don't need the mirror so the frame was perfect. It was only 59.99. It was really big so I decided to go home and get my hubby for help.

So trip #2 to Hobby Lobby
We walked in and to my surprise the mirror was reduced to 29.99. I know it was unbelievable. Then of course I had to look a little more because I was saving so much money. And yes!!!! I found more!

I had been wanting a really elaborate frame to make into a chalk board for my menu board in the kitchen. And yes....I found one 90% off!

And right behind the frame was candle holders and pottery that was also 90% off. So, of course for 2.50 each I could not resist!!! So, here are my Fabulous Find for under $55.00

Rock Star

I absolutely love my job! I mean what other job can you dress up an be silly! We had a Rock Star day dress up day at school for a fundraiser. It was so funny to see everyones idea of a Rock Star. I just got my hair cut so it was perfect for today.

Here are some Rockin teachers. Don't they look awesome! Students love to see their teachers having fun!

We spent our morning tatooing each other. I think he looks Hot with those tats! My kids wanted to know if they were real.

I googled what Rock Stars wear because isn't that where all people get their fashion advice! I borrowed this tutu from one of my students.

We spent the night before shaving his head. Isn't it awesome! He had a template that he made. He traced it onto shelf paper and then we just shaved over it to make the design. I LOVE IT!

I love working with my husband! We don't really see each other much during the day but it's so fun to come and go with him and have fun on these dress up days! One of the 5th graders said to me, " Mrs. Lane you and Mr. Lane are the cutest Rock Couple."

Ice Skating

Ice Adventures

There is an outdoor skating rink open downtown a few months out of the year. Rhees and I enjoyed skating last year and only fell once. So, this year our goal was not to fall and bring Necia to enjoy the experience also. Well, we ended up bringing some friends too! Which always is so much fun! The bad thing is the ice was very rough so, it was more difficult to skate. So, Necia really didn't enjoy it as much. Despite the rough ice we managed to have a great time. So, here is a little sneak peak of our Ice Adventure.

These are some friends who brought more friends. And let me tell you.... these two little twin girls were so precious. It was there first time on the ice.

These are our friends who we hope have the next wedding! They are too cute together!

Well, this was a fun ice skating trip but as you know....to a teenage girl you have to look good doing it! So, yes...this little girl was very concerned that her socks didn't match and the skates were not attractive!

Well, despite the so called fashion disaster she claims is going on here.....
I think she looks fabulous!

We started going around pretty slowly but quickly remembered and had the hang of it. We even started skating backwards and did some basic tricks. We even managed to have 0 falls! Well, for me I was proud. I'm sure Scott Hamilton would laugh at us....but we weren't there to impress. We had so much fun and will definitely go back for our 3rd annual skate trip!
